Commenting on Stewart Stevenson's trip to Luxembourg to take part in a European Union Climate Change meeting alongside Liberal Democrat Climate Change Secretary Chris Huhne, Liberal Democrat Climate Change spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said:
"I welcome Stewart Stevenson's attendance at this Climate Change meeting alongside Chris Huhne in Luxembourg. This shows that the new UK Government is serious about working constructively with the Scottish Government.
"Climate change will only be tackled if nations can work together to agree on early ambitious targets to limit the worst effects of climate change.
"However the SNP have missed opportunities in the Scottish Parliament on delivering their climate change targets.
"It is all very well attending meetings and discussing ambitious targets but we need to see real action from the SNP on delivery.
"Chris Huhne as Climate Change Secretary will work to deliver on these targets for the UK. We hope the SNP in Scotland will follow their example.
