Government must tackle poor provision of dentists

Commenting on a study which shows that people in Scotland are put off visiting the dentist because of fear or the potential cost, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:
"Liberal Democrat research has already shown that there is a real lack of dentists in some of the more rural parts of Scotland.
"Now this research shows that nearly 25% of patients won't go to a dentist for fear of what might happen or the potential cost.
"The Government needs to work harder, making it easier to visit an NHS dentist and to make visiting the dentist a normal occurrence and not something to be feared."
