Liberal Democrats began the general election campaign in Edinburgh North and Leith today where they only need 2153 votes to win to the seat from Labour.
Commenting at the start of the Liberal Democrat campaign, Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Tavish Scott MSP said:
"I am thrilled to be starting the Scottish campaign.
"In many seats across Scotland such as this one, it is a two horse race - between the Liberal Democrats and Labour.
"The Tories only have one MP in Scotland and it will be the Liberal Democrats who make Scotland a Tory free zone.
Liberal Democrat candidate for Edinburgh North and Leith, Kevin Lang added:
"The Liberal Democrats came a close second here last time and have an excellent chance of winning this time around.
"Edinburgh North and Leith is just the kind of place that has been taken for granted by Labour for too long and is crying out for change.
"We are looking forward to taking our positive message to the door steps over the next 4 weeks.
"I hope the people of Edinburgh North and Leith will elect the first ever Liberal Democrat MP in this constituency."
